NGAWI MY HOMETOWN
Hello my friends. In
here I want to tell you about my hometown. I live in Ngawi, exactly Rt 03 Rw 05
Ngepeh Backwoods, Jambangan Village, Paron District, Ngawi.
Ngawi is a district
located in East Java Province. Precisely located in the western part of the
province of East Java which is directly adjacent to Central Java. The word
Ngawi comes from the Sanskrit Language “AWI” which means bamboo and get word
additions so they become Ngawi. Ngawi shows a place on the edge Bengawan Solo
and Bengawan Madiun which is overgrown with bamboo. The area of the Ngawi
distric is 1.298,58 Km2, where around 40% or around 506,6 Km2
is in the form of paddy fields. Ngawi district morphology is quite diverse
ranging from the Volcanic Lawu mountain range with a steep slope above 25% to
the Fluvial area of Bengawan Solo in the form of lowland.
Recreation places in
Ngawi district such as Bridal Waterfall tours, Tawun Baths, Pondok Reservoirs, Srambang
Waterfall, Jamus Tea Garden (Sine Sub-district), there is also Rubber
Plantations managed by PTP XIII Tretes, there is also the Van Den Bosch fort
used by the Dutch as a Steelsel fortification strategy in a effort to narrow
the space for the Prince Diponegoro in the guerrilla warfare. This fort is now
open to the public. There is also a bull statue site, Watu Jonggol Waterfall,
Hargo Dumilah and etc.
Original aunthentic
food is Tepo tahu, then Wedang cemue, Chicken satay that have a different taste
with chicken satay in other regions. Beside snacks like Tempe chips, Chocolate
tempe, and Chocolate chips there are many in the Ngawi. While for the original
arts Ngawi is Orek-Orek Dance, Kecetan Dance, Dongkrek, Pentul Melikan Dance,
Krucil Puppet, and etc.
